About The URA

Our Mission

"The Nashville Urban Residents Association exists to provide a unified voice for the downtown demographic, to encourage civic involvement, to stimulate local commerce and to promote neighborhood social interaction."

Our organization believes it's important that downtown Nashville residents meet and combine our energy and effort as we increase the visability and prosperity of our neighborhood.  WE LIVE HERE!

We meet on the third Monday of every month (click on Upcoming Events  for details). The meeting and mixer locations may change from month to month so visit this site often.  Current URA members receive reminder notifications via email the week before each event.  These email's include details on mixer locations, transportation options, and an agenda for our business meetings.

Over the past few years, our membership and event attendance has grown. It is obvious that the new wave of downtown dwellers are dedicated to protecting their investment by getting involved.

Our Merchant Access Program (MAP) offers residents special services and discounts from participating downtown merchants who appreciate our business.  Your MAP card (included with your membership) is your access to these specials and is complimentary with your annual membership.

We are well known by Metro Government, the Nashville Downtown Partnership, Metro Police, and the District Merchants, who all recognize the value of our involvement in downtown development efforts.

Please join with us as we make our neighborhood a safe, beautiful, fun, and profitable place to live.

Committees

Get involved! Join a committee and become a vital part of all that we do! For more information about joining a committee, contact maribeth@nashvilleura.org.

MAP Committee - This committee is in charge of contact new and existing businesses to sign them up for our Merchant Access Program. The program provides discount and perks for URA members at all participating merchants.
Event Committee - As the name implies, this committee plans and organizes events for the URA, such as mixers, outings, etc.
HOA Representative Committee - Our goal in this committee is to form a group of representatives from each residential building downtown so we can be kept aware of all of the happenings from each. This committee also helps get the word out to their buildings about our association.
Safety/Green - This committee is constantly working to improve our quality of life by working with the Downtown Partnership, Metro Police and others and ensure safety on our streets and enhance our environment.
Volunteer Committee - The newly established Volunteer Committee discovers and plans community service opportunities for our members. Two recent successful opportunities were the cleanup under the Jefferson Street bridge and the downtown library Puppet Festivals.
